What I do
education.
Innovation.
Transformation.

Hi, I’m Becky. My passion is advocating for education transformation. I believe all learners should be presented with opportunities to help them succeed in an unknown future.
With a focus on transformation, I work with schools, organizations, and systems to champion best practices. I’m driven by listening, learning, and applying knowledge and experiences from around the world to new contexts.

what i believe about education
Change learning forever, one step at a time.

Incremental innovation
I don’t believe change has to be disruptive. In fact, I believe small, strategic steps forward are the most effective. Building new habits and practices takes time and energy.
Empowerment and equity
Students who are given the right support, motivation, and opportunities will thrive. Today’s learners should have access to industry-standard tools and programs, focused on creation and contribution more than consumption.

Season zero
Planning for success is more important than implementing quickly. Scalability and sustainability don’t happen overnight. Whether it’s a 1:1 program, esports, artificial intelligence, or a new methodology, careful strategy pays large dividends.
Impact webs
One person can change a life. Ten people can change an entire system. I’d rather work with a small group of passionate educators than an entire school full of apathy. Through coaching and training, I’m thrilled to see teachers build their skills and share their love of something new with those around them.
WHAT I DO
Let’s work together
You can follow my journey – or let me be a part of yours.
Speaking engagements
I’d love to visit your school and inspire educators with next-level learning. I’ve keynoted events all over the world and led workshops in my city. Working with teachers to build new practices and open new doors that ultimately impact students is my dream job.
Consultation
With over 20 years of experience in the education technology industry, I have a lot to say. Ask me to inform your practices, plan strategically, give feedback, and let’s mold the future of your product, plan, or program together.
Content development
Whether it’s writing a blog, appearing in a video, or planning a lesson, I’d love to help craft your education initiative. I have ten years of experience developing content for some of the world’s biggest companies. Let’s add you to my list.

i2esports
As someone who has never identified as a gamer, I was intrigued by the idea of electronic games in schools – especially considering the academic alignment. After visiting schools, attending workshops, and listening to leaders, I am completely convinced esports is the best way schools can include all kids in community while preparing them for a future outside of school.

FAQs
What tools do you get excited about?
I am happy to support edtech products that are safe, secure, and equitable. I officially promote Wakelet, SchoolAI, Genially, Surface, and all things Microsoft. I also love Canva for Education and Novel Effect.
What’s this about Microsoft Certified Coach?
I am the co-author of the Microsoft Certified Coach program, along with Dr. Kim West. We pitched, developed, brainstormed, wrote, designed, and now deliver the Microsoft Certified Coach industry credential program to educators everywhere. Learn more at aka.ms/CertifiedCoach.
How do you stay relevant if you’re not teaching kids regularly?
That’s an important question. While I haven’t taught a full time classroom in a while, I have adopted classes for short term projects and volunteered in after school programs. I also listen – a lot. I am well connected to educators around the world and am happy to advocate on their behalf for what makes sense for their students, workloads, and environments.
What can I expect from working with you?
My Clifton Strengths top five are discipline, achiever, relator, analytical, and maximizer. You can expect me to pay attention to details, deliver with excellence, and ultimately begin a ripple effect of impact with your audience.
Are there tools you’re not excited about?
Yes. I sometimes see tools that are focused on teacher-centric learning, didactic instruction, and worksheet-driven activities. I don’t appreciate tools that aren’t multimodal, accessible, and equitable. I try not to post negative comments publicly but will definitely share my opinion when asked.
How do I follow a similar journey?
I’ve been asked this question on so many podcasts that I added it to my FAQs. The easiest recommendation I have for anyone looking to leave the walls of their classroom and make a difference beyond their current reach is to say yes to every opportunity that you can. I have been incredibly fortunate to work with and surround myself with supportive, visionary leaders – and I’ve said yes when I was asked to stretch myself and try new things.
How do I know if you would be a good fit for my needs?
A virtual or in-person chat seems to be the best way to determine if we’d work together well. Set up time with me to talk it over!
How much do you cost?
That’s the awkward part. And the answer is that it depends! I have standard rates for in-person events and consultation hours, but I also can be flexible or modify some expectations to fit a project I’m passionate about. Budget shouldn’t be a barrier. Again, let’s talk!
